ATU book now available

Folkestone to 1500 Hundred: A Town Unearthed is the first of two major publications to come out of the ATU project.

As anyone who has seen it will agree, it’s a beautifully produced volume that gives for the first time a detailed and authoritative account of the early history of Folkestone, from prehistory to the Reformation. It’s 200 pages are full of fascinating images and informative text and contain some surprising revelations about the almost forgotten early history of our town.

As a key part of A Town Unearthed’s legacy, we are immensely proud of the book. It pulls together all the hard work of partners and volunteers over the three years of the project.

You can find out more and buy the book via the Canterbury Archaeological Trust website.
It is also available from the Folkestone branch of Waterstone’s.
It costs £14.99.

ATU volunteer Nick Spurrier has written a review of the project and the book. Click the link below to download it.
