Site Supervisor’s excavation diary – 30th Oct – 3rd Nov 2010

Day 92 – Saturday 30th October 2010

KP + 6 volunteers. Continued backfilling courtyard area. Took final levels on villa walls. Did final planning and measurements. Did finds washing on site. Dry all day.

Day 93 – Sunday 31st October 2010

KP + 10 volunteers + AR. Light rain am. Completed back filling of courtyard area. Sorted out finds.

Day 94 – Monday 1st November 2010

KP, BC, RH + 3 volunteers. General tidy of site. Covered villa walls with plastic sheet. Continued checking paperwork. Did final sorting of finds. Dry all day.

Day 95 – Tuesday 2nd November 2010

KP, BC, RH + 5 volunteers. Used machine to back fill area of villa and tidy-up remaining spoil heap. Continued checking paperwork. Continued finds washing on site. Off-hired maching at 1.30pm.

Day 96 – Wednesday 3rd November 2010

KP, BC, RH + 3 volunteers. Tidy up of site. Removed spare fencing and redefined compound. Continued checking paperwork. Machine collected from site, 3.30pm. Spare fencing not collected by 4.45pm when site was abandoned. Phoned AR with final progress report. All field work completed.
